Local Festivities: A taste of tradition

The San Carlos festivities in Ibiza usually last for a month. It starts in the second week of October and reaches its peak on November 4th. This is the main day dedicated to the patron saint, San Carlos de Peralta. The celebrations typically continue until the second week of November.

We highly recommend visiting Ibiza in November to experience the patron saint’s day celebration because most of the festival’s attractions are available during this month. One of the highlights of the festivities is the squid fair. There are stalls and kitchens seasonally lit up, serving delicious seafood prepared in various ways. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy local cuisine.

Additionally, there’s a full schedule of activities to celebrate the patron saint’s festivities. Think of traditional games and photo contests that you can join. If you’re attending these celebrations with children, you’ll also find various entertainment options for them, such as children’s obstacle courses and magic shows.

Welcome to the White Island, the party capital of the world every summer! If you’re planning a trip to this vibrant paradise in Spain, you’re probably wondering what to wear to fit in with the stylish and trendy crowd. In this article, we will explore the ultimate guide on what to wear in Ibiza, featuring 7 outfit ideas that will make you stand out on the dance floor.

As a local i can say, there is no dress code in ibiza. Everyting goes in Ibiza, it´s a mixture of the posh, young party goers, the hippy-chic, the bikini pool party people you name we have it here.

From casual daywear to fashionable bikinis and boat party looks for the best cruise in Cala Salada, we’ve got you covered. So grab your maxi skirt and get ready to party in style! Let’s see which Ibiza outfits are the trendiest this summer!

What outfit should you wear in Ibiza this summer?

First and foremost, it is essential to stress the importance of feeling comfortable when dressing. Bear in mind that Ibiza is a place where it’s hot and you’ll be dancing a lot, so we recommend you bring light, breathable fabrics that allow you to move easily on the dance floor and on your day-to-day getaways.

Not to be funny but we locals do make jokes about if British young people even bring shirts to ibiza.

Even within Ibiza, it depends on where you go, O beach ,ibiza rocks, ushuaia and Boat Parties

Being that said, here are our Ibiza outfit recommendations:

What´s up with the dress white ibiza code?

Ibiza is called “the white island” when a famous Artist, Santiago Rusiñol, in 1912 published it in his book. and it  stuck with everyone ever since. In the late 40´s the goverment used it as a slogan to try to get some tourists.

No wonder really if you go out your way from the San Antonio – Ibiza – Santa Eularia route. Typical architecture from ibiza is white due to the Lime kiln used to “paint” the houses. And then a clothing brand based in Ibiza called ADLIB which got pretty international made the whole dress white idea world famous.

Also there is a big salt flats right next to the airport which has mountains of salt.

I’ve personally been to caribbean hotels where they have white ibiza nights , funny enough it’s more like what tourist think people from ibiza wear.

General dress code for Ibiza

When it comes to putting together the perfect look for your stay in Ibiza, there are a few key tips to keep in mind.

  • For men, trousers paired with a shirt and smart footwear is the way to go. Ditch the trainers and sneakers for a more sophisticated look.
  • As for women, they can flex their style muscles by opting for jeans with a blouse or shirt, or a stylish Ibiza-inspired dress with flats or heels. For a more formal occasion, it’s important to avoid flip-flops and bikini tops.

So whether you’re partying in the nightlife or enjoying a beach day, follow these simple guidelines to make sure your outfit is always appropriate and chic.

When you go out in Madrid or Barcelona, they wont even let you in with sneakers or a tank top, in Ibiza it must be the easiest going , chill, lax , dress code.

Where you should dress fancy?

Nobody will force you to, but you will feel more comfortable if you do dress up a bit a the more classy events.

Also if you do get a VIP table at a club, a certain dress code is expected, some recommend no shorts, flip flops or tank tops. (in Hï ibiza prices are from 1500€ minimum per table up to 10.000€ or more).

The more fancier clubs would be in my opinion, Lio Ibiza (old Divino), Chinois (old Heart ), Pikes, Destino and Pacha.

Where does it really NOT matter?

Really anywhere in ibiza, as someone born and raised here we always say, we´ve seen it all and are not surpised by much so relax.

Having said that, Amnesia, Ushuaia, Hard Rock, Eden, Esparadis, Hï Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks, O beach, Cova Santa, it really doenst matter that much, there is no dress code.

Daywear in Ibiza

Regarding beach attire, comfort and style should be at the forefront of your choices. You can pick from a range of abstract printed swimwear such as a popping purple bikini top and matching bottom.

Complete your ensemble with a breezy cover-up, a pair of stylish sandals and you’re ready to make a splash at the seaside. Ibiza is known for its boho-chic scene, so don’t be afraid to experiment with eclectic designs and silhouettes for a fashionable beach Ibiza outfit!

Fashionable Bikini Top

Getting ready to outfitting for the beach, a fashionable bikini top is a must-have for any attendee. The vibrant and ecstatic atmosphere of Ibiza demands chic swimwear that stands apart from the rest, so choosing a tie side bikini top adds a hint of panache and adaptability to your beachwear. The adjustable ties allow for a customized fit, securing comfort while displaying your personal look.

Holiday Dresses

In order to beat the heat, opt for a lightweight, airy frock in an eye-catching print or vivid hue. Strappy sandals or wedges will complete the chic and comfy look. Have fun with different styles and designs that will make you stand out from the crowd!

For a boho-inspired Ibiza outfit, go for a maxi dress decked out with crochet or intricate embroidery details. Sandals or ankle boots, plus some layered necklaces or a wide-brimmed hat will complete the laid-back aesthetic.

Also, feel free to glam it up with a metallic or sequined mini dress for a night out. Show off your curves with a body-hugging silhouette and pair it with statement heels and minimal accessories for a show-stopping look.

Boat Party Looks

Tapping into the vivacious atmosphere of an Ibiza boat party requires the perfect outfit. Amp up the fun factor with a triangle bikini in a daring hue, paired with high-waisted denim shorts. To make a splash in the style stakes, accessorize with a floppy hat, oversized sunglasses, and a statement beach bag. And finish the look with a pair of sandals or wedges for maximum comfort.

As organizers of these kinds of events, in Float Your Boat we know that it’s the ideal moment to flaunt a fashionable and comfy Ibiza outfit!

Dress casually for Clubbing

If you’re looking for a night out, the island’s vibrant and carefree atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for an unforgettable evening. So, when it comes to clubbing, leave the formal attire behind and opt for something more relaxed and stylish. A great way to dress for the occasion is to choose comfortable yet fashionable pieces.

Men should go for tailored trousers or jeans paired with a well-fitted shirt, and complete the look with a pair of smart casual shoes, while women can opt for a chic and stylish look by pairing jeans with a trendy blouse or shirt. Or, if you want to make a statement, consider wearing an Ibiza-style dress with flats or heels. Remember to choose lightweight and breathable fabrics that allow you to move freely!

Beach to Club Outfits

When it comes to transitioning from a day at the shore to a night of partying, the right ensemble is critical. Beach to club Ibiza outfits should be fashionable yet versatile, enabling you to make a smooth move from one atmosphere to the next. To start, try a breezy beach skirt coupled with a crop top or swimsuit top.

This combination is not only fashionable but also great for keeping cool during the day and looking sophisticated at the club. The beach skirt can be spruced up with a pair of heels or downplayed with sandals, making it an adaptable piece for your wardrobe.

Here are 7 unusual things you can do in Ibiza:

Diving into hidden caves

Ibiza is not just crystal-clear beaches; Ibiza is excitement and adventure. One of the most unusual and thrilling things you can enjoy is diving into the hidden caves of the island.

The waters surrounding Ibiza are home to numerous underwater caves waiting to be explored. These caves reveal a magical and mysterious underwater world with stunning rock formations and rich marine life.

One of the standout caves is Sa Figuera Cave, a hidden gem where sunlight filters through the cave entrance, creating a spectacular interplay of light and shadows with the water’s reflection.

These cave diving excursions are usually guided by experienced instructors who know the underwater geography of the island like the back of their hand. They also provide the necessary equipment to ensure divers’ safety at all times.

Hiking in Ibiza’s mountains

Beyond the waters and beaches, Ibiza boasts a magnificent mountainous interior. One of the most unusual things to do in Ibiza is hiking through its mountains—an incredible and unforgettable experience.

Ibiza’s mountains offer a completely different experience, far from the coastal hustle and bustle. Among the most prominent routes is the ascent to the island’s highest point, known as Sa Talaia, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Ibiza landscape.

If you prefer a less challenging hike, the Ses Salines Natural Park is ideal. Here, you can explore historic salt flats while observing birds in their natural habitat, walking on trails surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation.

For those looking for a more intimate and authentic experience, guided hiking tours led by passionate locals who know the island are available. Regardless of your skill level, hiking in Ibiza’s mountains is a unique opportunity to connect with nature, discovering a different side of this beautiful island.

Visiting hippie markets

Hippie culture has always been closely tied to the island because its earliest visitors were drawn by the island’s spirit of freedom. Ibiza gained international recognition due to the arrival of hippies in the 1960s, though some had already discovered this ambiance in the 1930s.

This influence has left a mark on the island, and one way to experience hippie culture at its fullest is by exploring the local hippie markets. These markets are true treasures and offer a unique shopping experience as well as a deep connection to Ibiza’s history and art.

Two of the most prominent markets are Las Dalias and Punta Arabí. Las Dalias is famous for its relaxed atmosphere and eclectic offerings, including bohemian-style clothing, artisan jewelry, art objects, and live music.

On the other hand, Punta Arabí, held on Wednesdays, is the original hippie market of Ibiza and offers a wide selection of handmade products and authentic island souvenirs.

Visiting these markets is a unique way to immerse yourself in Ibiza’s hippie culture, discovering…

Street Art Tour in the city center

Few people know that the heart of Ibiza is home to a thriving street art scene worth exploring. Its streets are adorned with impressive murals and street art created by talented local and international artists.

You can embark on an exciting walking tour through the city to discover these unique artistic expressions. Along the way, you’ll find colorful graffiti, intricate designs, and advocacy messages that bring Ibiza’s streets to life.

This experience allows you to connect with the island’s contemporary culture, exploring its most creative side. If you’re a photography enthusiast, don’t forget your camera, as every corner holds a masterpiece worth capturing.

Beach Drumming Festival

The Ibiza Drumming Festival is pure energy. This annual event attracts locals and tourists seeking an unforgettable musical experience. The beach becomes filled with drums and percussionists of all kinds, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, bringing people together in a magical sunset.

If you want to experience the purest essence of Ibiza’s culture, the Drumming Festival will connect you with the place and people from all walks of life.

Wine tasting at a local winery

Ibiza is gradually becoming a unique wine destination in the Mediterranean, and one of the most unusual experiences is wine tasting at a local winery. These boutique wineries offer the opportunity to taste wines produced on the island, many of which are hidden treasures.

During a wine tasting, you can sample a variety of local wines, from crisp whites to intense reds, all while immersing yourself in the winery history of the region. Additionally, most wineries are surrounded by a dreamy landscape, making the experience even more memorable.

Stargazing on the beach

In Ibiza, starry nights are a must-see spectacle. Escaping the island’s general hustle and bustle to enjoy this view on a secluded beach is priceless. Far from city lights, it’s just you, the sky, the stars, and the universe. You can enhance the experience by bringing your own telescope or joining an organized stargazing tour.

During these excursions, astronomers will guide you through the night sky, pointing out constellations, shooting stars, and other celestial objects. It’s a romantic and educational experience that will connect you with the universe in an unforgettable way.
